What President-Elect Barack Obama and Zaazu Smileys Have in Common
Both challenged conventional thinking and won!
Zaazu.com introduced its brand of cuter and more vibrant smileys that looked different from what online users have seen on the internet and initially, reception was cold and remote. Online users were so used to seeing round-faced emoticons that showed the most basic of human emotions - crying, smiling, winking and laughing – and perhaps online users were not ready to give way to smiley designs that showed a lot more character and expressions. Fast forward to 2008, Zaazu smileys are most-sought-after for their new designs that cover the widest range of emotions. Popular movie and sports idols, including those in the news and politics, and ordinary men and women from all walks of life, young and old alike, are sure to have a Zaazu smiley character to call their own.
President-elect Barack Obama won over John McCain in a presidential election that will be remembered in history as the longest, toughest (for a Democrat at least), and the most expensive. Never mind if originally, he was almost sidestepped by a woman candidate. Never mind if he was criticized for his “inexperience”. When the dust of the November 4 elections settled, Barack Hussein Obama, though met by resistance just like Zaazu smileys, finished victorious! History books will record his triumphant entry to the White House with the caption: the first black man to sit on the throne of power that is the United States of America!
“We want change”
Barack Obama challenged all Americans to rally behind him if they clamor for change and want to see it happen. It seemed that Barack struck a common chord among the whites who believed in him, the blacks who saw him as a brother, the young and old alike, people of all races, the well-heeled in Beverly Hills and those in the Bronx. When the election results came out, it was clear people of the United States of America – not the blacks and the Democrats alone - but everyone who wanted to see change happening soon, have spoken.
Onwards to 2009
2008 will close with Zaazu.com beating competition bit by bit, but surely. It has added new and more attractive designs to its database; there is now a wider selection of emoticons depicting every thinkable human expression there is. Zaazu.com has designed its unique premium package that gives full access to “limited-edition” smileys among its subscribers while still allowing online users to experience the use of Zaazu smileys in their emails by providing them the free version. There is definitely an arsenal of bigger things to come for the company and its loyal patrons; 2009 will definitely be a “Zaazu year”. Online users can look forward to more designs, additional categories and more online support for subscribers.
President Barack Obama will be the first Democrat-candidate who won the presidential elections after Jimmy Carter with more than half of the total votes, though it failed to cap a landslide victory that many in Obama’s quarters have hoped for. Nevertheless, it was a convincing win. John McCain, the ever- true gentleman that he is, conceded easily.
