The biggest problem with narcissists is that they don’t (and can never) realize how frustrating and hurtful their actions and words can be.
If you want to taste your narcissist friend his own recipe, that’s completely okay. Because they must know how it feels when others do the same.
I am showing you 7 ways to take on a narcissistic to hurt their ego.
How To Make A Narcissist Miserable
#1. Ignore Them Completely
Do you know why narcissists don’t mind the negative attention? Because narcissists crave for recognition. Negativity is still attention for them, and any form of attention gives them the motivation to keep proving themselves.
They will try to show you that they are better than you, and they will try to control you.
But, you can handle them by without giving them any attention. Means if they are near you, you can walk past them without noticing them or if you are chatting with them on text, don’t reply to their messages.
#2. Try Sarcasm
Be sarcastic to shrink their negative ego. You can really piss them off because they often want to be the sarcastic one and getting other person more sarcastic will doubt their self-worth.
#3. Ask Them For The Facts
Remember, you have to challenge everything they say. For example, If they say they click photos like a pro, tell them to show you their talent in front of you. If they find excuses, tell them clearly that they are lying.
Narcissists hate being challenged because they actually have no real power. But if you challenge them, they would be so embarrassed and try to avoid you.
#4. Show Them Mirror
Yes, you read that right. Show them what they actually are. If they’re just full of bullshit, tell them that they are bullshit. When they start talking about some random crap, ask them to show the scientific proof.
Since narcissists hate being challenged, getting called bullshit will hurt their false pride a lot.
#5. Feel Sorry For Them
Tell them you feel sorry for them because they are going to live alone for the rest of their lives.
For narcissist people, show your sympathy to them. Sympathy may hurt them the most because something they are so proud of seems so pity in other person’s eyes.
Narcissists extremely hate authority because they don’t like answering to anybody but themselves. An authority makes them uncomfortable as they think they are losing power and control.
So take charge and control them in an assertive way. If they try to control, stop them in-between and ask them do this (give a valid reason).
#7. Start Thinking About Yourself
Narcissists may overwhelm you with love to keep you in control. They can try to win you with their charm and empathy.
But problems arise when you start thinking about yourself because that is something a narcissist never wants to happen. They don’t want you to think for yourself. If you start doing that, they’ll react to break you down. They’ll make you doubt your capabilities to satisfy their ego.
So have your own clarity to set your goals and priorities.
Narcissists can be destructive to you as well as themselves. Have empathy for them but care about yourself first and don’t get dragged down when they go down.
Whenever you realize that you’re friend is a narcissist. It’s better to leave him for your betterment.
